Valencia CF were visited from Elche CF for the first time in seven seasons on Saturday, and welcomed the away side with a Ninot figurine as part of the 'Sempre Falles' campaign.
Prior to kickofff, Valencia CF president Anil Murthy handed the commemorative Ninot to Elche CF president Joaquín Buitrago, accompanied by club ambassadors Miguel Tendillo and Miguel Ángel Bossio and Elche board member Alejandro Martínez Montoro.
The figurine shows the Valencia CF mascot, with the characteristic colors of Valencian ceramic tiles. Designed by artist Sergio Gómez from Alicante, the mascot also features emblematic elements of Valencian culture: The Ciudad de Artes y Ciencias, El Miguelete, Albufera, oranges... as well as a nod to the away team with the presence of La Magrana del Misteri d'Elx.
The Sempre Falles initiative helps local artists during the Covid-19 crisis, and is running throughout the season at Mestalla for home games.
